Solar design inside the system that runs the job
Pin the roof. Glow pulls high-resolution imagery, finds the roof faces, lays the panels out from your own catalogue and builds an MCS compliant estimate, in the project your team already runs the job from.
Glow is solar design built into Payaca. It is in limited release, with a small group of UK installers running it on real jobs.
It is not a design tool bolted onto a CRM. The roof, the quote, the materials, the purchase orders, the survey, the DNO application and the service plan are the same project.

The roof
Pin the roof. Glow pulls high-resolution imagery, finds the roof faces and lays the panels out.
Move the panel count and the layout redraws, keeping the highest-yielding panels first. North facing faces can be excluded with one setting.
The catalogue
Pick the kit from a full catalogue of panels, inverters and batteries, with technical data and the manufacturer's datasheet attached, so the proposal carries the right spec sheet without anyone hunting for a PDF.
It is your catalogue. The products you actually fit, at your prices.
The MCS compliant estimate
The estimate is MCS compliant. It carries the MIS 3002 performance estimate, worked from the MCS zone, orientation and pitch of the actual roof with a shade factor per array, and the MCS battery information, with the notes those standards require.
The shade factor is not a box someone ticks later. Glow runs an MGD 005 shade assessment on each roof face, from the horizon in the surface model and the objects near the property, and attaches the sun path chart to the estimate. Redraw a face by hand and the document states that array was not assessed.
Then it stops being a design tool
The kit on the design becomes the priced items on the proposal. The items on the proposal become the materials list for the job. The materials list becomes purchase orders to your suppliers at their prices, or a draw from your own stock at real cost. The purchase orders sync to Xero. The margin on the job is live from the day it's quoted. The survey, the DNO application, the install schedule and the service plan sit in the same project, and Dave builds the automations between them.
A design tool gives you a roof and a PDF. This gives you the roof, the quote, the materials, the orders, the books and the job.
Flow, for heat pumps
Flow launches alongside Glow. A customer fills in your enquiry form, Payaca pulls the EPC, runs the heat loss, sizes the heat pump and cylinder from your own appliance list, takes off the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant and gives you an indicative estimate before anyone books a survey.
It is the fast estimate, not room by room heat loss. Your design tool still does that part.
Then ask Dave
Dave is the agent inside Payaca. It can build the design from a request in the chat, talk through the generation and savings numbers, and reason about a bigger battery against fewer panels.
It is the same agent that builds your automations, edits your document and email templates, and writes your reports.
What's included
What Glow does, from the pin on the map to the purchase order.
Pin the roof
Drop a pin on the property. Glow pulls high-resolution imagery, finds the roof faces and lays the panels out. North facing faces can be excluded with one setting.
Your own catalogue
Panels, inverters and batteries with their technical data and the manufacturer's datasheet attached, so the proposal carries the right spec sheet without anyone hunting for a PDF.
MCS compliant estimate
The MIS 3002 performance estimate, worked from the MCS zone and the orientation and pitch of the actual roof, plus the MCS battery information, with the notes those standards require.
Shade assessed per roof face
Glow runs an MGD 005 shade assessment on each roof face, from the horizon and the objects around the property, and puts a shade factor on every array. The sun path chart is attached to the estimate. Redraw a face by hand and the document states that array was not assessed.
Materials, orders and margin
The kit on the design becomes the priced items on the proposal, the materials list for the job, and purchase orders to your suppliers or a draw from your own stock. The purchase orders sync to Xero.
Flow for heat pumps
An indicative heat pump estimate straight from your enquiry form. EPC in, heat loss run, pump and cylinder sized from your own appliance list, Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant taken off, estimate out before a survey is booked.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Glow?
- Glow is solar design built into Payaca. You pin the roof, Glow pulls high-resolution imagery, finds the roof faces and lays the panels out, and the design becomes the priced items on the proposal, in the same project your team runs the survey, the DNO application and the invoice from.
- Can I use Glow now?
- Glow is in limited release with a small group of UK installers running it on real jobs. Book a call and we'll switch it on for your account.
- Is the estimate MCS compliant?
- The estimate carries the MIS 3002 performance estimate, worked from the MCS zone and the orientation and pitch of the actual roof, with a shade factor per array, and the MCS battery information, with the notes those standards require.
- How is shading assessed?
- Automatically, on each roof face. Glow runs an MGD 005 shade assessment from the horizon in the surface model and the objects near the property, puts a shade factor on every array and attaches the sun path chart to the estimate. Redraw a face by hand and the document states that array was not assessed.
- Where does the equipment data come from?
- From a catalogue of panels, inverters and batteries built from manufacturers' datasheets, with the technical data and the datasheet attached to the product, so the spec sheet goes out with the proposal.
- What is Flow?
- Flow is the heat pump equivalent of the fast estimate. A customer fills in your enquiry form, Payaca pulls the EPC, runs the heat loss, sizes the pump and cylinder from your own appliance list and takes off the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, so you can send an indicative estimate before a survey is booked. It is the fast estimate, not room by room heat loss.
- Do I still need my design tool?
- For solar, Glow does the design and the MCS compliant estimate. For heat pumps, Flow gives you the indicative number and your design tool still does room by room heat loss. The existing design tool integrations are unchanged and keep working, so you can run both.
- What happens after the design?
- The kit on the design becomes the priced items on the proposal, the proposal becomes the materials list, and the materials list becomes purchase orders to your suppliers or a draw from your own stock at real cost. Purchase orders and supplier invoices sync to Xero, so the margin on the job is live from the day it's quoted.
